2025 Camps - Location - Highlights

AerialKnotics - 4:00 & B - Fully generator-free and powered entirely by solar with a 3kkW system and 14kWh battery storage. Offering informal tours of its systems.

Alternative Energy Zone - 4:00 & E - Generator-free since 2000. Offering daily tours at 11:00AM and interactive streetside experiences. Continuous efforts improve their infrastructure, including refining lighting, adding wind power to charge e-bikes, and developing a compact solar graywater distillation system for small camps. The Provides education, technical support, and classes on topics ranging from RV system design to advanced off-grid technologies.

AmaZONE - 4:00 & A - This camp has progressively integrated sustainable infrastructure, with a core commitment to greywater and wastewater processing. Offers demonstrations of its water treatment system and is open to sharing its knowledge with visitors.

Aurora - 4:15 & C - HUB power sharing with a focus on efficient generator use, shade strategy, and water distribution. Limits vehicle use and collaborates with neighboring camps to leverage shared infrastructure. Takes an ecosystem approach to sustainability in theme camp design.

Bad Boy's Discover Your Kinks - 4:00 & C - Shares resources through the HUBS program.

Bad Idea - 4:15 & D - Shares resources through the HUBS program.

Bao Chika Wow Wow - 4:00 & E - Largest sustainable food camp on playa, camp of 88 serving steamed bao(dim sum) brunch and offering a public mutant vehicle and e-bike charging station - 100% solar powered. Sustainability focus also includes composting, trash sorting and minimization, grey water filtration and recycling.

Black Rock City Welding & Repair - 4:00 & E - Fully solar-powered camp with a bike repair shop, welding equipment, and a bar running off a large solar array.

Burners Without Borders - 6:45 Esplanade - Solar powered reefer container. Ecozoic toilets for the public! Hosting sustainability talks and the GTCC Blast program, as well as the new solar donation library program.

Burning Questions - 3:45 & B - Hosts a giant circus tent that to restore burner energy. Small camp with low footprint and low water use. Mostly solar powered.

Cameltopia - 3:45 & C - A desert oasis serving unleaded water to thirsty travelers since 2015. Hump day parties are every wednesday in BRC from 2:22 to 5:55 with beats and drinks.

Camp Corny - 4:30 & B - Compost food waste, recycles 100% of cans on playa. Extensive solar powered setup and trailer that powers a number of elements in camp, including kitchen, dining room and many overnight lights and features on frontage.

Camp Gotalotgoinon - 3:45 & A - A collectective of doers and artists that want to share a collaborative art space with others. LNT haircut roulette wheel and a sustainable interactive art as gifts and to create together. 90% solar powered, food cooked in advance and all waste sorted to landfill, recycle and compost.

Castra Ursi - 4:15 & E - Castra Ursi is a small, self-reliant Burning Man camp dedicated to sustainable living and the support of art on Playa. Entirely powered by a custom-built solar microgrid, our camp operates with zero fuel usage and upholds a strict no single-use plastic policy. We emphasize water conservation, prohibit RVs and fuel-based vehicles, and all our members arrive via Burner Express Bus to minimize environmental impact.

Camp Codename - 4:15 & D - Mid-sized, multigenerational camp from the Bay Area that serves chocolate chip cookies and hosts workshops on personal growth and reflection. Stop by to visit our What Brings You Joy booth, get some unsolicited advice, or pick a word to unlock a forbidden poem. We promote a culture of kindness, consent, and cookies.

Cosmic Llama - 4:15 & B - The camp composts all food waste and separates materials for recycling as part of its Leave No Trace efforts. By hubbing with nearby camps, it reduces generator pollution and minimizes the need for water delivery by sharing water and shower resources. All storage, eating, and drinking containers are reusable, with no single-use plastics used on-site.

Discrace - 3:45 & B - We are fully solar powered. We have been generator free since the inseption of Discrace. We thrift shop and borrow to reduce our need to purchase new.

GYST - Get Your Shit Together - 6:45 & B - Get Your Shit Together - GYST is an official COMPOST COLLECTION SITE! Reduce methane & make Black Rock City more sustainable by bringing us your dry & contaminant-free food scraps - to be composted off-playa and returned to the earth. Compost parties with beats, surprises and specialty drinks during compost collection times. COMPOST COLLECTION AND PARTY HOURS: Monday through Saturday, 3:00pm - 6:00pm

IDEATE - 4:15 & C - Compost program, now in a HUBS for shared utilities - solar power and water reduction is in our future!

JOYISM - 4:00 & D - Part of a hub that shares power, compost, gray water collection, ridesharing to and from playa.

La Calaca Village - 4:00 & F - We are about 65% solar powered and have a goal to be fully solar by 2027.

Mindwerk - 4:15 & C - Shares resources through the HUBS program.

Mystopia - 7:00 & A - Mystopia is a pioneer in large-scale solar at the Burn. Last year we had 16 bifacial panels and 20+kwh of battery storage, and estimated generating upwards of 30kwh of solar energy per day. Solar was integrated into our diesel generator for a hybrid system that maximized how much of our large camp power was being powered off solar. Good at composting with setups for drying our compost, and we use an evaporative cooling misting system as our gift to the playa.

No Drama Bar (Camp) - 4:00 & C - At NO Drama Bar, our commitment to the playa and the planet is paramount. We diligently practice a closed-loop composting system, collecting only organic and uncooked food waste, which we then air-dry on-Playa, and transport off-Playa post-Burn for donation to a goat farm. Any cooked items or meats are responsibly directed to Playa Compost. We also actively hub our power, significantly decreasing the overall number of generators on the playa, contributing to a quieter and more sustainable environment for everyone.

Ocean Beach - 4:00 & A - Ocean Beach is a sun-soaked fever dream of surf shacks, sea creatures, and boardwalk absurdity. Join our salty circus for lobster pizza rituals, smoothie shamans, sunset cocktail ceremonies, and the infamous ode to JB’s cheeseburger in paradise. Stretch your soul with yoga, tantra, and sound healing. Play boardwalk games, ride silly rides, and lounge like a sea god. We’re a 100% green camp and compost collection site riding the tide toward a stranger, better world. New beach bums always welcome — come get weird by the waves.

OjO Grande Tiki Bar - 4:15 & C - We have a solar powered tiki bar. 1kW of PV charges our 48v batteries. We drive around the playa and serve refreshing drinks for rehydration. Also 2 campers with solar and LiFe batteries supporting Burner small power needs.

Opera - 4:00 & E - Shares resources through the HUBS program.

Oral Fixation - 4:00 & C - We have solar panels that power our freezers for popsicles and some a/c for the camp.

Phantasmagoria ex Hot Mess - 4:00 & Esplanade - This 135-person camp is working to improve sustainability by reducing diesel use, planning to shut down most generators at night while keeping one running for essential services like refrigeration and lighting. They compost, recycle cans, and are shifting to aluminum beverage containers and prepackaged food deliveries to reduce trash and avoid glass waste. The camp also aims to move operations closer to the playa, reduce transportation impacts, and explore solar and battery power in the future—all while offering a welcoming atmosphere, music, and a scenic lounge at the temple.

Rise - 4:00 & A - Working to improve overall efforts around sustainability!

Rubber Armstrong - 4:00 & D - Our solar system comprises 10.8 kW of solar PV (on 2x 48' trailers), 38.4 kWh of lithium battery storage, and 12 kW of inverter output capacity. Camp mates dinners pre-made and heated on-playa. Actively composting and recycling. Purchased a school bus to reduce number of vehicles bringing camp mates in.

Spice n Vice - 4:00 & B - 100pc solar powered camp. No generator, no ice run. Our Elektrick Kamel setup uses trucks and shipping containers as anchors for our solar arrays, which store those juicy electrons from the Sun in LiFePo4 battery banks and run our fridge freezers for safe food storage. Spice n Vice yummy food is all prepped at home with love by our naked virgins (wearing osha approved belly dancing outfits). No waste, no fuel, solar music and lighting an added bonus. We open source all our solutions to help green BRC one camp at the time. Composting and water recycling too (come watch our dusty bodies being washed by gloriously filtered and treated recycled water every day at sunset). Then have some carbon free spicy ice cold chai tea.

Square One - 3:45 & C - We power 3 art installations with solar. We uses containers for transportation and housing.

Uli Baba and the Horny Thieves - 4:15 & D - Theme camp with "human experience auction." Ground mount 3200 watt solar, 5000 watt inverter, 16kwhr battery storage. Generator backup that we have never used.

Who's Ready for Jelly!? - 4:00 & C - Ground mount solar array with two smaller arrays on vehicals (10,925 watts in total). Hoping to produce ~50kW per day. 62,400Wh of storage via repurposed Tesla car batteries.
